A TEAM COMMITMENT
To solidify our commitment to safety, we contract the services of a safety consultant to assist with site safety audits and training to ensure our workers are performing their jobs in the safest possible manner. Our consultant works along side our safety team to verify that all safety requirements are met and any needed changes are implemented. Our award-winning safety program is based on a zero accident tolerance that is embedded in the identity of the company and our employees. Weekly on-site safety meetings are held and attendance is required by all on-site personnel.
An important part of the Company’s safety philosophy is making sure our employees attend various industry training programs, including 30-Hour OSHA, 10-Hour OSHA, Confined Space and Competent Person Certifications. Our safety program provides mandatory random, pre-employment, and post-accident drug and alcohol screening.
The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) of the Carolinas annual Spring Conference was held April 12-13, 2019 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Each year companies are given the opportunity to compete for a Safety Award for best and safest overall Safety Program based on company size. Our program competed against seven other entries for a chance to present at the NUCA conference as a finalist.
At the conference, Pipeline Utilities' safety representative presented to the NUCA board and other conference attendees details on our safety program. After all presentations were complete, everyone in the audience voted and Pipeline Utilities’ program was voted “Overall Winner” and selected to receive the “2019 Safety Award in recognition of safety excellence during the 2018 calendar year”. Pipeline won the award in 2018 as well, making us repeat champions and demonstrating once again just how serious we are about keeping our employees safe.
